x = t * cos(t), y = t * sin(t)
 
r = a * sin(t) / t
 
x = (a+b) * cos(t) - b * cos((a/b +1) * t)
y = (a+b) * sin(t) - b * sin((a/b +1) * t)
 
r = a * 1/cos(4*t)    a=.5
 
x = (a+b) * cos(t) - c * cos((a/b +1) * t)
y = (a+b) * sin(t) - c * sin((a/b +1) * t)
 
r = a * exp(b*t)   a=1, b=.1
 
r = pow (t,a)   a=.5

To get this shape I rotated a lemniscate 360 degrees in 15 degree increments
 
x = a * sin( n*t+c )  a=5, b=6, c=7, n=4
y = b * sin(t)
 
r = 1/sqrt(t) * 7
 
r = log(t)
